Outfitter Satellite is now strongly encouraging all our IsatPhone PRO customers with version 5.3.0 to upgrade to the newest firmware version, which at the time that this post is being written is 5.11.0.
You can verify what firmware version your IsatPhone PRO handset has installed by performing the following commands from your IsatPhone PRO handset: Menu > Settings > About > Firmware version.
NOTE: Outfitter Satellite has received some reports from users able to get a GPS fix and good signal strength from the Inmarsat satellite, but still unable to register. The LCD screen displays the message: LIMITED CONNECTIVITY and tells them to call their service provider. Updating to the latest firmware was determined to resolve the issues and restore normal operation.
Performing the IsatPhone PRO Firmware Upgrade:
You will need a Windows Vista / XP / 7 machine to perform the IsatPhone PRO firmware upgrade. If you are using Windows 7, the latest version of the USB driver and the IsatPhone Pro firmware upgrade tool must be installed before the upgrade is performed. We haven't tested Windows 8 or Windows 10. The upgrade process will take about 15 minutes. Be sure to have the computer connected to external power so the upgrade is not interrupted.
