So with an Iridium GO! you can use your smartphone or tablet to download GRIB files (using various apps like PredictWind Offshore, not included). You can also make phone calls or text (app included). You can send/receive emails with small (<100 KB) attachments (app included). You can share photos that you take on your smartphone (automatic compression occurs in the app).

Limitations: It is important to understand that an Iridium GO! has a very slow 2.4 kbps data rate. This data rate is not suitable for web browsing. Iridium GO! is OK for light email applications with small email attachments less than 100KB, but you cannot use your regular email account. Instead, you will be provided a special MyIridium.Net email account (included) that is optimized for use with the Iridium Mail & Web app. Outfitter Satellite does not sell GRIB apps but can recommend some third party app providers.
