End of Life for Inmarsat Fleet 33, 55, and 77

The End of Life for Inmarsat Fleet 33, Fleet 55, Fleet 77, and MPDS have been announced. These are legacy services that currently operate over the Inmarsat-3 (I-3) satellites. Inmarsat C service will continue and will be migrated to the newer Inmarsat-4 (I-4) satellites.

• MPDS: 12/31/2017
• Fleet 33: 12/31/2018 (subject to further validation, may be scheduled earlier in 2018)
• Fleet 55: 12/31/2018 (subject to further validation, may be scheduled earlier in 2018)
• Fleet 77: 12/1/2020

Replacement for Inmarsat Fleet Services

Inmarsat has promotional programs to help former Fleet 33, 55, and 77 customers transition to current service offerings which include:

• Fleet One
• FleetBroadband

Fleet One is an entry level service ideal for non-commercial users. It offers up to 100 kbps of Standard IP data, voice, SMS messaging, and 505 safety service. FleetBroadbandoffers multiple voice lines, fax support, standard IP data speeds up to 432 kbps (FleetBroadband 500), SMS messaging, and 505 safety service.
