Rental General Terms
The Customer is responsible to verify that the rental equipment delivered to the Customer works and that the Customer fully understands how to operate it prior to leaving for any remote location. The shipping address of Outfitter Satellite is 2727 Old Elm Hill Pike, Nashville, Tennessee 37214. If the Customer does not return the rental equipment within 2 days of receiving the rental equipment, the equipment shall be deemed operable, and the Customer agrees to be responsible for all charges set forth in this rental agreement. Outfitter Satellite gives no warranty of the fitness of any equipment for any specific purpose and advises the Customer to be certain that the use or possession of the equipment is legal in any country within which the Customer intends to use or carry the equipment. The Customer agrees to abide by all effective regulations in any country where the equipment is used, including the purchase of any required licenses or permits. Iridium does not serve North Korea.
Non-Refundable Charges: The Rental Reserve Period starts on the day the rental equipment or SIM card is delivered to the customer. Before shipment to the Customer, Outfitter Satellite will make an immediate charge to the named account for the “Rental Reserve Period”. The Customer agrees to pay rental charges for the entire Rental Reserve Period. It is understood that the Customer will not receive a refund for any part of the original Rental Reserve Period. Minutes from the Airtime Bundle (Bundled Minutes) are a non-refundable up-front purchase. There is no refund for the unused portion of the bundled minutes after the rental is concluded.
Instructions for Return Shipment of Iridium Phone Rental Equipment: A prepaid FedEx return label is included with the rental equipment which can be used from any FedEx location in the continental United States. The rental equipment should be returning using the same box it was shipped in or an identical one available at FedEx. Packages received at overseas, Alaska, or Hawaii FedEx locations will result in additional shipping charges being billed to the Customer after the rental is returned. If the prepaid FedEx return label is misplaced or destroyed, Outfitter Satellite will issue another upon request. Using a FedEx drop box sometimes can result in FedEx receiving the rental equipment the following business day. Customer is encouraged to drop the rental at a FedEx location that can provide a receipt for the customer's own records. If the Customer does not use the supplied prepaid FedEx return label, Outfitter Satellite is not responsible to reimburse the Customer for alternative shipping methods.
Instructions for Return Shipment of Iridium SIM Card Rental Kit: A prepaid USPS return envelope is included with the rental equipment which can be used from any USPS location in the United States. If the prepaid USPS return envelope is misplaced or destroyed, Outfitter Satellite will issue another upon request. Using a USPS mailbox sometimes can result in the USPS receiving the SIM card the following business day. Customer is encouraged to drop the rental at a US Post Office location that can provide a receipt for the customer's own records. If the Customer does not use the supplied prepaid USPS return envelope, Outfitter Satellite is not responsible to reimburse the Customer for alternative shipping methods.
Loss Provision: In the event that the Customer fails to return all rented equipment or SIM card(s) to Outfitter Satellite for any reason, including, but not limited to, loss or theft, Customer agrees to pay for the replacement of any and all items not returned at listed retail value. If the equipment or SIM card(s) is lost or stolen, Customer will contact Outfitter Satellite and notify them of the loss or theft of the equipment or SIM card(s). Outfitter Satellite will make reasonable efforts to deactivate the equipment or SIM card(s); however, Customer is responsible for all usage that occurs prior to deactivation (which will normally occur within 2 business days after Outfitter Satellite receives written notification from the Customer of the theft/loss). In the case of a lost or stolen phone, the rental period ends on the day payment is made to Outfitter Satellite for the lost or stolen phone.
Damage Provision for Phone Rentals: Outfitter Satellite ships all equipment in good working condition and insures it for the above specified retail value during delivery to the Customer and return shipment via the prepaid FedEx return label supplied with the rental. The Customer agrees to pay for the repair or replacement at listed retail value of any equipment rented to the Customer by Outfitter Satellite in the event that it is damaged while in the possession of the Customer. If the Customer does not use the prepaid FedEx return mailer supplied with the rental for the return shipment to Outfitter Satellite, the Customer further agrees to pay for the repair or replacement at listed retail value of any equipment rented to the Customer by Outfitter Satellite in the event that it is damaged or lost during the return shipment. Outfitter Satellite retains the right to determine if the equipment has been damaged. Upon return of the equipment, there will be an immediate charge for components that are damaged or missing from the shipment based on the retail value of the components specified in this agreement.
For the Iridium 9555, Iridium Extreme, and Iridium SIM Card Rental Kits
Dropped Calls: The Customer is responsible for all usage including calls that are dropped while in progress. In order to reduce dropped calls, the Customer is advised to wait until good signal strength exists before initiating calls. An Iridium phone works optimally if it has a 360 degree view of the horizon. Where this is not possible, attempt to find a location to use the satellite phone that does not have nearby tall vertical obstructions, e.g. trees and buildings, as this improves the chances of getting strong Iridium signal and tends to reduce the frequency of call drops. The Customer is advised that unexpected call drops will occur when using Iridium services, and the Customer remains liable for all calls and SMS messages made or received even if numerous call drops occur. The Customer agrees to pay all charges set forth in this agreement regardless of coverage or equipment performance in the area of attempted use.
Airtime & Other Charges: The Customer agrees to pay Outfitter Satellite all airtime/usage charges for calls/communications made from or received on the rental phone/terminal at the rates indicated in this agreement. It is the Customer’s responsibility to know the usage cost for any particular calls the Customer makes. This information is available from Outfitter Satellite upon request. It is the Customer’s responsibility to provide a valid email address because Airtime invoices will be sent to your email address of record. Airtime usage is usually billed in the subsequent calendar month though longer delays can occur. All voice and data calls are measured and charged in one (1) minute billing increments (one minute minimum). In-bundle calls always have a zero charge in the “USD” column. Voicemail is included with the rental but, for phone rentals, a $25 fee applies if the voicemail password is modified during the rental and the original password is not restored before being returned to Outfitter Satellite. Inbound calls made by 2-stage dialing via 480-768-2500 and calls to non-Iridium satellite networks such as Inmarsat or Thuraya are not Basic Rate Calls and will be billed at the rates shown in this agreement. Inbound calls that are direct dialed to the Iridium mobile number are not charged to the Iridium account but the calling party will be charged by their own long distance provider. Bundled Minutes apply to the usage of a single Iridium phone and are not shared by different Iridium phones or SIM cards rented by the Customer unless they are explicitly identified as shared or pooled minutes. The Customer will not receive refunds or discounts on airtime usage related to calling for customer service or technical support. On termination of the rental agreement, or periodically during the rental period, all amounts including rental, shipping, and airtime/usage charges can be charged to the named account. A late charge of the lesser of 1.5% per month or the maximum rate permitted by law may be applied to any amount not paid when due.

For the Bivy Stick
The rental includes basic monitoring of SOS messages from the Bivy Stick by Global Rescue. Global Rescue offers additional services beyond this basic monitoring plan, and if the customer chooses to purchase these additional services from Global Rescue, this transaction is between the customer and Global Rescue and is not the responsibility of Outfitter Satellite.
Before leaving for a remote location, it is important to verify that the Bivy Stick and the Bivy app on your smartphone are operating as expected. You will need an internet connection on your smartphone to download the Bivy App. After this is done, find a location without nearby tall vertical obstructions such as trees or buildings to test the Bivy Stick and verify, for example, that you can send and receive a short message. Remember, the Bivy Stick needs a clear view of the sky to work correctly and obstructions like trees or buildings can reduce the ability of the Bivy Stick to communicate with the Iridium satellites.
The Customer agrees to pay all charges set forth in this agreement regardless of equipment performance in the area of attempted use. The Bivy App and web portal service are provided by a third party (ACR Electronics, Inc. hereafter “ACR Electronics”) and the customer must agree to end user license agreement(s) before using them. The Customer is ultimately responsible to administrate the Customer’s own web portal and Bivy Stick and smartphone device configurations. The Customer certifies that the Customer will obey all laws and regulations relating to use of these services. Use of these services for an unlawful purpose constitutes a material breach of this contract that could result in service cancellation. A Fair Use Policy applies if the Customer’s Bivy Stick account usage overly exceeds the monthly average consumer usage as determined at the sole discretion of ACR Electronics, and the Customer acknowledges that Outfitter Satellite and ACR Electronics have no liability for any responsive actions taken. Other Disclaimers and Limitations: The Customer is responsible to use the Bivy Stick according to its instructions. The Customer acknowledges and understands that all satellite systems and telecommunication systems have inherent flaws and anomalies and undergo scheduled or unscheduled maintenance and that because of this communications through the Bivy Stick can be interrupted. Due to the technical nature of tracking and communication device configuration and the inherent sophistication of transmission through a variety of satellite and other operating systems, Outfitter Satellite makes no representation as to the success of any particular message through any system. Customer understands that messages transmitted through the Bivy Stick may be undeliverable due to errors unrelated to the Iridium network which can include without limitation problems with mail filters, mailbox overflows, incorrect email destination addresses, incorrect mobile phone numbers or other problems. Outfitter Satellite shall not be liable to Customer, nor shall Customer make any claim against Outfitter Satellite or its suppliers, for injury, loss or damage sustained by reason of any unavailability, delay, faultiness, loss of data, or failure of the facilities or services to be provided pursuant to this Agreement.
The following list of retail values relates to the Bivy Stick Rental Kit and will be used to determine the replacement cost to be charged to the Customer in the event there is lost or damaged equipment: Bivy Stick Device ($299.95), Lanyard ($5), USB-C Charging Cable ($5), USB-C Charging Cable ($5), USB AC Charging Brick ($5), DC Car Charger ($5), Padded Soft Case ($26); 44 W-Hr Battery Pack ($59).
Additional Acknowledgements
I understand that an Iridium satellite phone needs a clear line of sight to the Iridium satellite and that the presence of vertical obstructions such as nearby trees, mountains and buildings can result in frequent call drops.
I further understand that continuing to attempt to make calls while near these vertical obstructions can result in a series of billable short duration calls, and
I agree to pay for these calls. Moving to a nearby clearing or moving away from buildings and trees and waiting for a strong signal on the satellite phone before initiating calls will help reduce the frequency of call drops.
I acknowledge that rental reservations may be cancelled at no charge up until 4 business days prior to the start date of the rental (the day you’ve requested to receive the equipment). A $75.00 cancellation charge will apply after that time, for cancellation requests received up through the start date of the rental.
I further acknowledge that if a rental reservation is made more than 30 days in advance of the start date of the rental, Outfitter Satellite reserves the right to update any rates, terms and conditions up until 4 business days prior to the start date of the rental, and the Customer has the right to cancel their rental reservation without penalty up until 4 business days prior to the start date of the rental.
